TMI Trainer’s Retreat sets the stage for the future!
On August 24 -26, the TMI program trainers came together from all over the globe to celebrate our past and dream of our future. It was a time to renew old friendships, form new ones and to remember the magic that is our legacy.
Together we considered a number of far ranging questions to help discern our future and focus our intent:
- When have we (TMI) been at our best and what do we do best?
- What are the dragons we fear and need to face?
- What is the TMI culture both spoken and unspoken that we have inherited?
- What do we mean by “The transformation of human consciousness?”
- What are our essential guiding principles?
- What will TMI look like 5 and 10 years from now?
In addition we had presentations by:
- Jane Walker who is an expert in nonprofit governance, development, and organization who spoke with us on the significance of being a nonprofit, and gave us insights into organizational structure, communication, and legal issues;
- Paul Rademacher reported on his findings to date in his conversations with our graduates across the country;
- Peter Agelasto reported on the upcoming changes to our internet presence;
- Skip Atwater brought us up to date on our financial condition and significant changes that have taken place over the past 1 ½ years;
- George Griffith, who is the Chair of our Board of Directors, spoke with us on state of TMI from the Board’s perspective, and
- Karen Viar gave us an update on registration and trends she sees emerging.
The serious work was capped off by a smashing dinner at Fallen Oak Bed and Breakfast, a rubber band shooting challenge and water balloon tossing contest. It was a time of positive renewal, refreshment and inspiration.
